Twilio SendGrid Email to SMS (MM3) Gateway Policy

This article is for customers who wish to send messages through the Email to SMS (MM3) Gateway. This route is not available through our Twilio SendGrid with email product.

Customers who may have sent SMS messages via MM3 with Twilio SendGrid in the past can review that traffic in order to transition to our Programmable Messaging products with the instructions below. Obtaining Phone Numbers and Carriers from your Twilio SendGrid Account will allow for a smoother transition when getting started with our Programmable Messaging product.

You may also need to engage in mailing list reviews periodically to ensure you have not collected any MM3 addresses.

You can utilize our Email Activity Feed within your Twilio SendGrid account to obtain recipient information to assist with a smoother transition to our Programmable Messaging product. The steps below outline how you can use this tool to search the recipients you have sent email-to-sms traffic to:

Search by carrier

Note: these US and Canadian carrier domains are subject to change.

  1. Access your account’s Email Activity feed by clicking on the Activity tab in your user interface.
  2. Search the carrier’s gateway domain within the search bar:
    • FCC has a published list of US carrier domains that can be found here. This policy will apply to Canadian carrier domains as well.
    • Canadian carrier domains known to Twilio:
