Recurring billing is disabled for your account

SendGrid account doesn't process monthly payments automatically. UI shows "Recurring billing is disabled for your account. Please make a one-time payment" under Billing tab in Account Details.

This auto-payment or manual payment via link is defined by two properties under your Account Details:

  • Billing address "Billing" tab
  • Company address under the "Account" tab

The recurring payment will be disabled in case these tabs have India-based address set as per local requirements. Often customers use foreign credit cards to pay for an account while having India set as a country of residence. This prevents them from getting recurring payments enabled.

 

Switching account to auto-payment

If customer uses non-Indian credit card to pay for the subscription BST can set recurring payments under the account. To do so, please ensure that customer updated Company address with non-Indian data. This could be their main office / headquarter address etc. Then follow these steps:

  • update Billing and Payment Info in Zuora by ticking Auto Pay
  • change Billing Batch from Batch23 to any between 10-19
  • change Communication Profile from LV One-Time Payment to LV Direct Auto PayScreenshot 2024-06-27 at 15.50.14.png

Afterwards, advise customer to update their addresses in the UI. Once it's done, an auto-payment should be fully implemented automatically. Please make sure that the correct address is updated to avoid the system to disable auto-payment in the future.
