Users may see DNS Validation Error (Code: 1004)
when using a CNAME record that is not available via the public internet. This guide explains how CloudFlare CDN users can resolve this issue.
Overview
When adding a new CNAME record via the CloudFlare DNS panel, your record may default to Proxied
status.
Proxied CNAME records are not available publicly, so you will need to update this status in order to use the record with SendGrid email.
To resolve this issue,, click the arrow-cloud button next to the CNAME record so it reads DNS only
. Once this is updated, you should be able to add the CNAME record.
