SendGrid's Legacy Marketing Campaigns allows you to store up to 2,000 contacts free of charge. Messages sent through Legacy Marketing Campaigns count against your Email API plan credits.
Notice: Contact storage works differently for the new Marketing Campaigns. For full details, click here.
Additional contact storage
Users who store over 2,000 contacts will be charged $10 for every additional 10,000 contacts stored.
For example: 2,001–12,000 = $10, 12,001–22,000 = $20, etc.
The first contact you attempt to add (beyond the free 2000 contacts) will trigger a pop-up notification explaining the additional charge. This charge increases to $20 at contact 12,001, $30 when you reach 22,001, and so on.
Please note, you may be asked to update your payment information on your account if you choose to pay for the stored contacts.
Contact storage billing
Contact storage fees are billed in arrears, and the fee is based on the highest amount of contacts stored during the previous month.
For example, if you have 25,000 contacts stored on your account on the 15th of the month, you then delete 10,000 contacts on the 20th of the month and upload 5,000 new contacts, the Contact Storage fee on your next month's invoice will be $30 for 30,000 unique contacts. This is due to the fact that the highest number of contacts stored over the course of the previous month was 30,000.
The current number of unique contacts stored within legacy Marketing Campaigns can be viewed in the Email API section of the Your Products tab on the Account Details page. Please note that Reseller accounts, subuser accounts, and some teammates (depending on permissions) do not have access to the Your Products tab.
