Thinking about downgrading your Email API plan, which has a dedicated IP, and upgrading to a Marketing Campaign plan that also has a dedicated IP? Or vice versa? While keeping your old IP?
If you follow the steps below, you will not have to worry about losing your dedicated IP address, nor will you have to worry about having to warm up an entirely new dedicated IP address.
Downgrade Email API and upgrade Marketing Campaigns
1) First, go to Settings > IP Addresses, and make note of the exact dedicated IP address attached to your account.
2) You will then want to upgrade your Marketing plan to an Advanced Plan. This will secure your use of dedicated IP addresses and make it so you do not lose your current dedicated IP address. Adding your Advanced plan will also add another dedicated IP address, but we will address that in a later step. Make sure you are upgrading to the Advanced plan, as if you upgrade to only a Basic plan, you will be unable to keep your dedicated IP address after downgrading your Email API plan.
3) Once you have completed your Marketing plan upgrade, you would then want to downgrade your Email API Plan from Pro. You will not lose your dedicated IP address if you make sure to downgrade your Email API plan after upgrading your Marketing plan.
4) Once you have done this, reach out to Customer Support and let our team know which dedicated IP address you would like to keep (the one you will note in step one), and they will remove the second dedicated IP address that was added when you upgraded from the Basic Marketing plan to the Advanced Marketing plan from your account, so you are not charged for an additional dedicated IP address.
