Objective
This guide walks you through the process of cancelling/downgrading your SendGrid paid subscription.
Note: To permanently delete your SendGrid account or account data, you must first follow the steps below to cancel your subscription and then create a Support request here for assistance with deleting the account or account data.

Procedure
To cancel your subscription:
- Visit the SendGrid Account Details page.
- Click the Your Products tab.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page, and then click Cancel Subscription.
Note: The “Cancel Subscription” button is only available for accounts that have an active subscription.
Upon downgrading or canceling a paid plan for either Email API or Marketing Campaigns, this plan will be available until the end of the month to use its features and email send functionality.
Since it takes some time for the cancellation to take effect, we recommend that in the meantime you secure your account if you have not done so already:
- Run a virus and malware scan on all computers and servers that access Sendgrid.com.
- Change the password on your account and all your teammate accounts.
- Enable two-factor authentication for your account if you have not done so already.
- Review recent IP addresses that logged into your account via the IP Access Management page in Account Settings.
- Ensure that any content management tools, such as Apache, PHP, Perl, etc., are up-to-date.
- Verify that your account credentials and API keys are not publicly listed in code repositories or associated comments on sites such as GitHub or BitBucket.
Once the cancellation is in effect, on the first day of the next calendar month, the account will be on the “End of Trial” plan status, which will not allow for email send and block access to some features. Please note the differences in available features based on plan.

You must be logged in to Cancel/Downgrade your account, and our Support team is unable to issue a Cancellation/Downgrade on your behalf. If you are unable to log in to your account, please contact our Support team for assistance.
