How To Change The Email Address Associated With a Unified SendGrid Account

Objective

This guide aims to simplify the process of changing the email address associated with a Unified SendGrid account for both primary account holders and teammates. By following the steps outlined below, users can ensure that their contact information within both Twilio and SendGrid platforms remains updated and accurate. This procedure is pivotal for users seeking to maintain seamless communication and access to SendGrid's comprehensive suite of email services without interruption.

Twilio SendGrid (Email)

User Account Permission/Role(s) Required

Account Administrator or roles (including teammates) with equivalent permissions for updating their account information

Procedure

  1. Sign in to your account at twilio.com/console with your current email credentials. This is the first step in accessing the Unified Identity system interface: Twilio console.
  2. Upon successful login, please make sure you are still within the Twilio console, not SendGrid. This is important since direct changes to the email address within SendGrid workspace might not be possible. Changes have to be initiated from Twilio account settings only.
  3. Once inside the Twilio console, navigate to account Settings or profile page. Here, you will find the option to edit your account information, including your current email address. You will need to use a different email that is not linked to any other SendGrid account.
  4. Follow the prompts to enter your new email address, ensuring it is one you have access to and can verify if necessary. Save the changes once you have confirmed the new email details are correct.
  5. The update in Twilio will automatically propagate to your SendGrid account. This synchronization between Twilio and SendGrid ensures that changes made on one platform reflect on the other, keeping your account information consistent across both services.
  6. It's recommended to log out and then log back in using your new email address to confirm that the changes have taken effect across both platforms.
